A good Sunday morning to you all!
Today I'm sharing one of my favorite psalms with you in a special way.
The twenty-third psalm illustrated.
A part of my personality holds a secret compartment of animated excitement - which most people don't see much of - but the rest of my layers combine a crazy combination of a calm, reserved demeanor, that's laced with quirkiness and a highly sensitive soul.
I love calm. I love calm in nature. A woodland lake filled with non-rippling water tinged with the blue of the sky kind of calm. Or when the sun dips behind the tall fir trees, a meandering wind brings their balsam scents to your nose. Your lungs are suddenly enriched with earthy goodness while the peepers and crickets announce their presence. Evening has arrived.
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.
Reading Psalm 23 brings calmness to my soul. Because in a tumultuous world, I need the Lord's words to guide and comfort me. To keep me safe. To lean on His everlasting promises for my daily needs.
Part of this psalm is illustrated in the painting below that I gifted to friends a few years ago. I hope the verse speaks to your heart and you enjoy seeing my painting process!
Pencil and ink first - and a lot of erasing!
And in color!
Not a reader of the psalms? Dig out your Bible and read Psalm 23 in its entirety now. When the Lord is your Shepherd, you will find comfort, guidance, direction, protection and provision in your life.
