Good morning, everyone!
The Psalms is my favorite book of the Bible. It's the section of scripture I always go to for encouragement in times of trouble.
A few years ago I started memorizing Psalm 37. I never got through to the end, but the first several verses stuck in my head pretty well.
When life's difficulties come at us from all directions, do you stress out quickly like me, or are you emotionally and mentally strong to withstand a troublesome situation? Depending on the circumstance, it's very easy for me to crumble and cry.
It's in these moments that I should be bringing specific scripture verses to mind. Do I? No. It's always later that I may think about what God has said in His word.
The LORD and His word have been provided for us to be a guide. To direct us, to comfort us, and provide peace. And most importantly, for salvation.
I memorized verses one through nine, but verses three, four, and five are special.
"Trust in the LORD, and do good: so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Perhaps you have certain desires in your heart like me that you pray the LORD will bless you with. Maybe it's a family situation. A career change. Relocating or the ability to renovate your current home. If it's a desire that has merit in the LORD's eyes, keep these verses in mind. Keep praying. Keep reading scripture.
Commit our way each day - live our lives the LORD wants us to - and He'll give us the desires of our hearts.
